As most of you will now be aware this year’s Record Store Day will be a little different to previous years! Instead of 1 big party to celebrate indie record store culture, 2020 will see 3 different RSD Drop Dates, the first being Saturday August 29th with further drop dates in late September and October. Read on for important information on how we will operate on the day to ensure everything is as safe and fair as possible!
First things first, rest assured we will be stocking our usual enormous range of titles and are confident we will have enough stock to ensure most people get what they want. As ever Record Store Day rules dictate that all sales are first-come first-served and there are no reservations. Also customers are limited to 1 copy of each title but can of course purchase as many different titles as they wish!
To insure you stay up to date with our plans we encourage you to sign up for our newsletters or follow us on social media.
⦁ We will be operating a system of allocated time-slots throughout the day to stagger the queue and ensure we can maintain social distancing and not cause too much disruption to our fellow Cowley Road stores.
⦁ At 8AM on the preceding Saturday, 22nd August, we will launch a dedicated Email contact form on our website and encourage customers to apply for a time slot. We will allocate these slots based on the order the Emails arrive and we will also contact customers to check which ‘Must Have’ titles they are after.
Please only contact us using the dedicated form below.
The contact form will be here
⦁ We ask that customers arrive at the store around 15 minutes before their allotted 10 minute slot and will have a small, socially distanced waiting area outside the store. We ask that all customers entering the store use the hand sanitizer provided and wear face coverings at all times.
⦁ We anticipate some customers will be in & out pretty quickly while others may take a little longer browsing, with this in mind we may be able to allow customers in before their time-slot, in the correct order.
⦁ Once the allotted time slots have run their course there will be an opportunity for those who turn up on the day, or any customers who wish to have another browse, to take another time slot.
⦁ We appreciate that some customers will be unable to visit us on the day and as such the rules relating to selling online have been changed for this year’s RSD event.
⦁ From 6PM on 29th August we will be listing our remaining stock on the Truck Store website where it will become available to purchase online; either for mail-order or for collection from either of our stores at a later date.
We will do our best to ensure the day runs as smoothly and safely as possible and appreciate your patience. As ever if we haven’t got what you’re after on the day there is always a chance we can re-order or transfer from our sister store so please do ask!
