We’re back with Dinked 117, the new album from the Bristol experimental jazz collective Ishmael Ensemble. Visions Of Light is released on August 6th by Severn Songs.
Since their hugely acclaimed 2019 debut, A State Of Flow, Ishmael Ensemble have gone from strength to strength, recording sessions for Giles Peterson and Tom Ravenscroft, and even appearing on Soul Jazz’s UK jazz retrospective, Kaleidoscope. Now, the collective, helmed by sax player Pete Cunningham, is exploring new sonic ground with everything from delicate harp to slick synth lines and a driving rhythm section. Perfect for fans of Ezra Collective, The Comet Is Coming and even Alice Coltrane at times, Ishmael Ensemble are one of the most exciting British jazz acts out there!
