We’re back with Dinked 115, the debut solo album from Sink Ya Teeth’s Gemma Cullingford. Let Me Speak is released on July 30th by Outré.
In her time in Sink Ya Teeth, Gemma Cullingford has crafted a signature disco sound, combining the aesthetic of post-punk with some serious groove. Now, for her debut solo album, Cullingford is turning to something both darker and more personal. Recorded in her home studio last year, Let Me Speak sees Cullingford turn to her early inspirations of Throbbing Gristle, Depeche Mode, New Order and A Certain Ratio (who feature on the bonus remix 7″!) to create a darker, more industrial form of dance music than anything she’s done in Sink Ya Teeth, with lyrics that are much more personal than her previously quiet public persona would have you believe.
The Dinked Edition of Let Me Speak is on 300 limited white LP with an exclusive alternate sleeve, bee-friendly wildflower seeds(!) and a bonus 7″ featuring remixes from A Certain Ratio and Means Of Production.
